SailboatArtwork.com contains a collection of recent paintings by Denise Kramer.

Using professional acrylic paints and varnishes on navigational charts the artist creates sailing/racing inspired paintings to commemorate the places that she and her patrons have sailed. Many of these charts were used for navigation and include the California coast, San Francisco Bay, Hawaii, Narragansett Bay, and Long Island Sound.

The painting style is less about precise rendering, but more an expression of the artist’s experiences while sailing: The constant awareness of the breeze, the intensity of the blue-green water, the reflection of the sun, and movement of the boat on the water all inspire this art which is captured in time and place on nautical charts.

Denise earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Atlanta College of Art and Master of Arts degree from the City University of New York.
