Nautical charts are an essential tool for sailors, and Denise Kramer uses charts to represent the sea environment.

This allows clients to immortalize their favorite sailing memories or commemorate a race in a truly unique way.

Denise Kramer’s artistic goal is to use discarded nautical charts to highlight our relationship with the ocean. Her paintings are a celebration of the effort and teamwork that goes into water sports and the maritime industry. The use of paper charts, as a canvas, is a testimony to the power of art in capturing the essence of significant events and places.

SailboatArtwork creates a sense of motion that is almost tangible. This is particularly impressive given the fact that the painting itself is static - there are no actual moving parts within it. The use of angular brushstrokes and bright colors, combined with an equally dynamic composition, give Denise’s paintings a kinetic quality that is difficult to achieve in a two-dimensional medium.

Begin a consultation.

The artist will follow up via phone, email or in person to discuss ways to customize your new painting with specific boats, landscapes and sailing conditions.

If interested, the process is relatively straightforward. First, contact us either through the form below or through email to discuss the details of the project. This may include the size of the proposed painting, the subject matter, or details behind your sailing story.

After an initial, free, consultation the artist will provide a quote, including sketches and chart ideas. Once the client approves the proposal, Denise will begin the painting while keeping the client informed throughout the process. This allows the client to make any necessary adjustments or modifications before the painting begins. Once finished, any remaining balance is due before the painting will be delivered to you.
