Blonde Reef, Hilo Bay
Blonde Reef, Hilo Bay
We are inspired by the exhilaration of surfing and the connection between humans and nature. “Blonde Reef, Hilo Bay” serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving our oceans and the activities that bring us closer to them. A female surfer is the focus of the painting, and is depicted in a natural, unpretentious pose, echoing the instinctive and effortless nature of surfing. The use of bold brushstrokes, adds depth and texture to the painting, giving it a sense of life and movement on the paper chart.
Acrylic Painting on Nautical Chart #19324, Hilo Bay, Hawaii. Measured 26 x 26.
As a sailor, Denise Kramer’s love for the open waters was not born on a sailboat, but rather on a surfboard. While surfing and sailing may seem like vastly different activities, there are surprising similarities between the two.
Both sailing and surfing offer a unique sense of freedom and adventure. The feeling of harnessing the power of the wind, or being at the mercy of the sea. Whether on a sailboat or a surfboard, the power of the ocean can be both exhilarating, and humbling. Both activities offer an opportunity to connect with nature and explore the world in a unique way.
